Day 12 - Surprise Diarrhea
Today is Day 12 since my diagnosis two Fridays ago, and Day 10 since entering this isolation facility two Sundays ago.
Today is Tuesday 21 September 2021.
Summary: No fever, no sore throat.
Cough still the same, loss of smell & taste still the same.
Yesterday I slept really late, like 8.30am (usually I sleep at between 3 to 5 am).
I slept till about 2pm plus. So that's about 5 hours of sleep.
Ok something weird happened this afternoon.
I had a bout of diarrhea in the afternoon! Went to the toilet twice with an upset stomach and watery stools.
What could be the cause?
I don't know.
Possibilities:
-banana I ate in the fridge yesterday left by my roommate (or did I eat it 2 days ago?)
-grapes I ate in the fridge yesterday (my sense of taste and smell are not working well, so I might not be able to tell if they have gone bad)
-apple I ate in the fridge yesterday left by my roommate. (but it looked perfectly fine, big and red, was crunchy and juicy)
-apples which they gave with my meals were bad ? (I remember seeing some apples had holes in them, but that is because I think they put the food on my doorstep for too long and by the time I opened the door, some bird had come by to nibble at it?)
-breakfast cereals (tiny 25 g pack of milo balls) which I ate yesterday (without milk)
-hot dog (bread with sausage) I had for breakfast earlier.
Anyway, two more developments today.
I received a water bottle from a friend!
This will allow me to boil water and store it for drinking.
(I didn't want to use the boiler to store the water...)
Another thing is I started eating my first instant cup noodles at about 3.30am (the morning of 22 September). I hesitated to cook cup noodles all this time because my sense of taste was impaired (so I couldn't enjoy it fully) and also I worried about its effect on my sore throat/cough. But in the end I still found it very enjoyable. It's good to have something to eat when it is so far away from the daytime meals. My stomach had always felt a bit hungry during the wee morning hours, but I would quell the hunger with some biscuits. So now it's good to have some hot noodles instead of dry biscuits.

It is also my first time boiling water. For the past 10 days I had been surviving on bottled water. I think the boiled water tastes funny. I shall stick to drinking bottled water.
Note that I am dating this post to 8.30pm 21 September, even though it is 4.55am 22 September right now.
In two days time will be my COVID test (on 23 September). I can't believe it's here so fast. It was 2 weeks away when I first arrived at the quarantine facility!
