Day 4 - First Full Day in CCF

Today is Monday 13 September 2021.

Today is the fourth day since my diagnosis and my first full day in the isolation facility (CCF - Community Care Facility) since I arrived last night.

Thought I should share some photos, of my room, and the view outside my room.
(let's face it - a blog without pictures is just too boring...)

Generally, throughout the day, my fever is on and off. Sore throat still persists. I think the sore throat got worse since I arrived - now I feel pain whenever I swallow anything, even just plain water, or just empty air....

My temperature in the morning was 37.7 degrees Celsius. Oximeter and heart rate readings are normal.

(note: 37.7 sounds like a big jump from previous days, but actually this is because I am using a new thermometer, an oral thermometer, rather than a ear thermometer which I had been using in my previous days at home. Oral thermometer readings are known to be higher than ear thermometer readings.)

Generally today was an uneventful day, and I spent most of the daytime sleeping.

Just something strange to share.

The rules of the premises stated that masks should be worn inside the room. This was written in the paper which was in the envelope that was passed to us when we arrived at the place. But this mask-wearing rule didn't quite make sense to me. Since both me and my roommate were already infected with COVID, why is there a need to wear masks inside the room? Hmm???

This logic sounded self-contradicting to me.

Furthermore, I was getting a blocked nose (which started last night) and made it harder for me to breathe. Putting on a mask on top of my face made it even harder to breathe.

So I decided to call the phone and ask to talk to the relevant health staff and request for an exemption. The request was declined.... :( (Welcome to Singapore).

It was quite cold in the room (due to the aircon) and so we (me and my roommate) decided to open the balcony doors and let the cold air run out.

Among all the things I missed at home, I missed shampoo the most! The shampoo provided by the facility was.... quite a joke. There is hardly any foam and it didn't even feel like a proper liquid. I wanted a real shampoo.

I was pleasantly surprised when a friend of mine offered to deliver needed items to me.

It's good to have friends indeed!

I am also in several covid-related telegram and whatsapp chatgroups, it is quite an uphill task keeping up with all the messages being shared in them lol.

Ah yes, you want to know how the food is like here right? Here is a pic of lunch and of dinner today.

Note: I wrote this blog post 26 hour after Monday ended, on Wednesday 15 Sep 2.30am, but I always backdate the date of publication of my posts in this blog to make my posts appear nicely in the right chronological order.
